What about the travel…
When we travel, we get out of our usual comfort zone, and face some challenges – contact with people, environment and foods that carry different microbiome than our own, plus a stress and time zone differences that are all taxing on our bodies.
You can increase comfort of travel and minimize its risks by simply using pure, natural Essential Oils.
When buying oils, always do your research and make sure that you are using 100% natural, pure oils, without any synthetics that are usually not listed on the label. Synthetic, adulterated or diluted oils simply do not work for the purpose of making travel more comfortable. Aroma is only one of the features of essential oils. Their more important feature is therapeutic, supporting healthy systems and directly cells.

Before or in Flight
Use Purification blend or Thieves spray to ward off the air impurities in closed space of an airplane full of people, and for a quick spray on the neck at the onset of scratchy throat.
Use Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier whenever you feel your hands are not quite clean. It is non-sticky, clear liquid in a small container of 29.6 ml.
Having handy Lavender Lip Balm moisturizes and protects your lips.
Use Peppermint oil on your belly for any digestive discomfort, on your temples for a headache or to invigorate from tiredness; on the roof of your mouth to refresh the breath; on the bottom of your feet for the ‘pins & needles’ from prolonged sitting position or on the lower back for the discomfort of sitting in a small space.
Use Ginger + (Plus is ingestible) or Peppermint+ on the roof of your mouth when you are uncomfortable from the motion of flying.
Use Stress Away blend, Tranquil rollover, Lavender or Orange oils to calm down discomfort associated with flying, new environment, crowds.
Use Lavender oil to immediately moisturize your skin in the dry air of the plane, or on any itchy spot that often happens with stress or in new surroundings.
Use Cypress oil on the sides of your neck to support blood circulation.
Oils for sunshine destinations
Citrus oils and Bergamot oil are photosensitive – do not use those topically in destinations full of sun.
Moisturizing – use diluted Lavender Oil or Elemi. Dilute in coconut or Jojoba or V-6 blend or Olive oil.
To lessen sun damage before you go to the beach – use Carrot Seed Essential Oil, mixed with Lavender oil, and diluted in Coconut oil. Bugs protection – make up a glass spray bottle with distilled water, witch hazel, Purification blend, or Citronella, or Peppermint with Lavender, or Tea Tree oils. Multiple oils work better than single one.
Soothing bugs’ bites – use Lavender oil.
If you don’t quite trust the drinking water – Use a drop of Lemon + (Plus is ingestible oil), or any Citrus oil, like Lime, Orange, Tangerine, or Peppermint, in a glass of water, mix well just before the drinking. It’s better option than any unknown tap water.
Digestive discomfort – Use Peppermint oil or Fennel or DiGize blend topically on your belly.
Fever – fever can be a sign of serious disease, so consult the doctor whenever possible, but in meantime you can use Peppermint on the temples (keep away from eyes), or on the back of the neck, or on the bottom of the feet.
Essential Oils safety
Keep in mind oil quality as mentioned above, in the “Quality” paragraph.
Any Essential Oil is safer used on the bottom of feet, especially if person could be sensitive. It is safer to start with diluting oil by placing a teaspoon of coconut oil in the palm of your hand (so it melts), and adding 1-3 drops max of the essential oil to it, then applying the mixture for the first time topically.
For children (6+) use only on the bottom of the feet. Do not use Essential Oils on children younger than 6, if you did not introduce them to oils before (As some Moms do in consultation with trained aromatherapist).
Keep oils away from eyes, ears (use behind the ear), intimate parts, any membranes.
If you need to “take back” oil that was just applied too much, do not use water – use carrier oil (i.e. coconut oil or olive oil).
Inhaled oils (sniffed through the nose) are reaching blood within 30 sec – 3 min. Essential Oils are going through the blood-brain barrier, therefore they are delivered almost immediately to the brain unlike any other substance.
Essential Oils are vibrating with specific frequencies, close to human frequencies, interacting with the electromagnetic field of the human body. They are able to raise the overall vibration of the body, therefore making you feel happier and more balanced, unlike electronic devices and appliances, which create much higher and mostly dis-harmonic frequencies.
Essential oils come in very small packages (bottles), so it’s easy to have them handy for comfort, in a carry-on bag. Necessity kit would depend on your personal needs, but mine would include:
Thieves, Peppermint, Lavender, Lemon
then you can add Stress Away, Joy or Ylang Ylang, PanAway
then Citronella, Carrot Seed, Purification
then your favourite fragrance oil, Clove and Frankincense
